Just two bidders for India’s 1.2 GW wind-solar hybrid project

India’s much-hyped first wind-solar hybrid auction found just two bidders, with 360 MW of the 1,200 MW finding no takers at all. This is the second time the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has held this auction, after the first round in May failed to attract bidders.

Softbank-backed SB Energy was awarded 450 MW at Rs 2.67/kWh (US$0.038), while Adani Green Energy won 390 MW at Rs 2.69/kWh. These were the only two bidders for the 1.2 GW wind-solar auction. A total of 360 MW remains unawarded.
