November 21 (Solar) – Finnish solar thermal energy specialist Savosolar Oyj has signed a pact in China to cooperate with a local firm in building a micro-energy network that is complementary with renewable energy.
Savosolar said in a statement today that it has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Guangzhou Power Supply Co Ltd, a wholly-owned unit of China Southern Power Grid Co Ltd, for this demonstration project in Nansha, Guangzhou. It did not give any further details about the scheme, saying that its size has not yet been determined.
The company’s CEO Jari Varjotie commented that Savosolar intends to become an active player in the vast China market of renewable energy.
“We believe this demonstration project could be first of many and it also supports the understanding of the high potential of the Chinese market for large scale solar thermal systems,” said Varjotie.
Savosolar specialises in the installation of solar thermal collector fields both on land and rooftops. The company offers complete turnkey solar thermal systems including design and delivery.
