Argentina's Mendoza breaks ground on 1.3-MW PV park

November 20 (Solar) – The western Argentine province of Mendoza announced on Sunday the start of construction of a 1.32-MW photovoltaic (PV) park

Empresa Mendocina de Energia SA (EMESA) and Cooperativa Electrica de Godoy Cruz are in charge of the project. It was secured in round 1.5 of the country’s RenovAr energy tender programme and will be built at the Park of Services and Industries of Palmira (PASIP).

Overall, the solar project requires an investment of USD 2 million (EUR 1.75m). Comprised of 4,000 PV panels, it will be connected to the 13.2-KV Miguez Transformer Station. Most of its components manufactured in Argentina.

The PV park is expected to generate 3,520 MWh per year, enough to meet the annual demand of 600 homes.
