Solar takes lead, again, in Germany's 2nd mixed renewables tender

November 19 (Solar) – Germany’s second mixed tender for onshore wind and solar was won solely by photovoltaic (PV) projects, just as in the first such tender, and was 1.5 times oversubscribed, the Federal Network Agency announced today.

The projects competing in the mixed tender had a combined capacity of 307 MW, more than 50% above the targeted capacity of 200 MW. The agency, known as the Bundesnetzagentur, said that the average winning bid came at EUR 0.0527 (USD 0.060) per kWh, against a bidding cap of EUR 0.0875 per kWh.

In the first mixed wind and solar power auction the average winning bid was lower — EUR 0.0467 per kWh.

Of the 50 proposals in the latest competitive round, there was only one for onshore wind but its offer was too high, the Bundesnetzagentur said. The highest quoted price in the tender was EUR 0.0579/kWh, while the lowest bid was EUR 0.0465/kWh.

Overall, 10 of the successful projects, with a combined capacity of 65 MW are located in Brandenburg. The list of winners includes Belectric Solar & Battery GmbH, EVH GmbH and Enerpac AG, among others.

(EUR 1.0 = USD 1.143)
