Belectric commissions 34 MWp of Israeli solar parks for EDF

November 13 (Solar) – Germany’s Belectric Solar & Battery GmbH said on Monday it has brought online three solar parks in Israel totalling 34 MWp for EDF Renewables, a unit of French utility Electricite de France (EPA:EDF).

The 14-MWp Pduyim, 13-MWp Mefalsim and 7-MWp Kfar Maimon photovoltaic (PV) plants are located in Israel’s Negev desert in the southern part of the country. They were built and commissioned ahead of schedule, said Belectric, which acted as the engineering, procurement and construction, contractor.

The German firm noted it has installed about 260 MWp of solar capacity in Israel since 2013 and is currently building, together with Solel Boneh, a 120-MWp PV park that will be the largest one in the country once completed in 2019. Last year, Belectric put on stream a 35-MWp solar farm for EDF Renewables as part of the 250-MW Ashalim project that combines concentrating solar power (CSP) and PV technology.
