Soventix completes 1.4-MW of solar rooftops in Dominican Republic


November 8 (Solar) – Germany-based Soventix GmbH said on Wednesday it has installed 1,367.4 kWp of rooftop photovoltaic (PV) systems in the Dominican Republic.

The four solar arrays are located in the Santo Domingo region. Together, they can generate more than 2 million kWh of clean electricity annually.

Currently, Soventix has a combined 40 MW of clean energy plants in the country and plans to do more, added the firm's CEO, Thorsten Preugschas.

The Dominican Republic government has a goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the island country by 65% by 2030, and solar energy is expected to play an important role.
