Unisun Energy gets Rabobank loan for Dutch PV project

October 29 (Solar) – Chinese distributed energy investor Unisun Energy Group said Sunday it has secured a loan for an 11.8-MW photovoltaic (PV) system in the Netherlands, its first project in the country.

The loan, of an undisclosed amount, has been provided by Dutch bank Rabobank to a local subsidiary of the company.

The ground-mounted project, to be built in the village of Rilland, south of Rotterdam, is expected to produce almost 10 million kWh of power per year, supplying more than 2,500 families in the area.

Unisun Energy, in which French energy group Engie SA (EPA:ENGI) is a strategic investor, plans to build and operate 600 MW of ground-mounted, rooftop and floating PV projects in the Netherlands in the next three years, according to chief executive Hao Peng.
