October 29 (Solar) – UAE utility company Utico has been selected to work on a AED-367-million (USD 100m/EUR 88m) project combining landfill gas and solar energy generation in Ras Al Khaimah emirate.
The power capacity of the facility, which will also have an agro-product development component, will be up to 16 MW, according to local media. The hybrid power plant will supply a desalination plant.
The project was announced last week at the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition in Dubai by Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed Al Hammadi, director general of the Public Works and Services Department of Ras Al Khaimah. That department signed the agreement with Utico after a long tendering and selection process.
