October 26 (Solar) – The Chilean unit of French renewable energy producer Cap Vert Energie Group announced on Thursday it is buying 45 MWp of photovoltaic (PV) plants from Spanish developer and operator Solarpack.
Under the agreement, CVE Chile will pay USD 45 million (EUR 39.37m) for four 9-MW schemes currently being developed in San Clemente and Linares, near Rancagua, and in the North of Chile near Pozo Almonte.
These PV projects, scheduled to be commissioned in 2019, are being built under the Chilean government’s PMGD scheme that encourages small power generation plants.
CVE Chile plans to develop 40 MWp a year in order to reach a renewable generating capacity of 220 MWp by 2022, the firm's CEO, Pierre Boulestreau, said.
