October 25 (Solar) – The Spanish autonomous community of Navarra has declared as an investment of regional interest the development of two photovoltaic (PV) projects with a combined capacity of 62 MW.
Located in the municipality of Tudela, the schemes will need an estimated investment of about EUR 52.7 million (USD 60.1m). They are owned by Suno Energia 4 SL and Suno Energia 5 SL, both part of local group Rios Renovables.
By being declared as investments of regional interest, the projects will go faster through the different procedures that need to be carried out with all public administrations of Navarra, the government said on Wednesday.
The PV farms are expected to create 180 direct and 200 indirect jobs during the construction period. The operation phase will require 30 employees.
The two projects fall under Navarra's "Renewable energies and resources" initiative, part of its Smart Specialization Strategy.
