October 1 (Solar) – Hanergy Thin Film Power Group Ltd (HKG:0566) presented this weekend a new integrated solar powered wall product for the building-integrated PV (BIPV) segment.
The so-called HanWall uses CIGS solar cell technology and is developed to allow skyscrapers to independently generate power. It comes in four different colors and various sizes to fit the ideas of building designers. Hanergy claims that every 1,000 sq m (10,764 sq ft) of HanWall incorporated into the south facade of a building in Beijing can produce 326 kW of power per day. It guarantees no less than 85% output for 25 years.
The Chinese thin-film solar company has, as of today, filed over 700 patent applications for the product. It said that quality certifications have been issued or are in the process of being approved by authorities from China and six other countries and regions.
“Hanergy conducted extreme condition laboratory tests to develop a reliable product. HanWall can resist a grade-12 typhoon and it can adapt to temperatures from -40 degree Celsius to +85 degree Celsius,” stated Liu Qian, Chief Designer at Hanergy Solar Design Institute.
