KDC Solar breaks ground on 23.5-MW project at New Jersey theme park

September 21 (Solar) – KDC Solar LLC on Thursday said it has started construction on a 23.5-MW solar project at the Six Flags Great Adventure amusement park in Jackson in the US state of New Jersey.

The system, which will supply the entire electrical load at the park, will rank as the largest net metered solar installation in the state, according to the announcement. It is expected to produce some 30 million kWh of electricity in the first year.

Seminole Financial Services provided debt financing for the project, while development capital and project equity was arranged by GoldenSet Capital Partners, acting as sub-advisor to the North Sky Capital Alliance Fund II.

"We look forward to the continued expansion of our portfolio with KDC" said Rob Pryor, principal, GoldenSet Capital. The solar company currently owns and operates over 76 MW of solar facilities at 15 locations.
