SolarEdge sets up unit in Taiwan

September 19 (Solar) – Photovoltaic (PV) inverters supplier SolarEdge Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:SEDG) has expanded its operations into Taiwan by forming a new subsidiary with a Taipei-based office, the company said today.

The new unit of the company is called SolarEdge Technologies Taiwan Co Ltd. SolarEdge is already operating in Taiwan via distributors Billion Watts and New Ray.

The newly appointed country manager, holding the position of Sales Director for Taiwan, is Frank Liang, with a background in the renewable energy industry. He will be responsible for growing the business in the country with a focus on developing the market, establishing a distribution network and creating a local professional support organisation, the company said.

“Thanks to the government’s commitment to expand the amount of PV generation, the Taiwanese solar energy segment demonstrates a great deal of potential," Guy Sella, CEO, Chairman, and Founder of SolarEdge commented.
