Dutch PWN launches 7-MWp floating solar tender

September 17 (Solar) – Dutch water utility NV PWN Waterleidingbedrijf Noord-Holland is to select through a tender a contractor to design, supply and install floating solar systems with a combined capacity of 7 MWp at two locations.

The deadline for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is October 15, according to a notice on the EU’s Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) last week.

The tender will award a contract for a solar photovoltaic (PV) plant covering about 10% of the water surface at Andijk, at the Princess Juliana water production plant (WPJ), with a capacity of some 4.2 MWp. It will also award a PV project of 2.8 MWp at Hoofddorp.

Financing for the projects will come from the water supplier. In addition to the design and construction works, PWN will also award operation and maintenance (O&M) contracts for an initial term of 15 years with two five-year extension options.

PWN says it may further expand the size of the floating solar system in the future to cover up to 50% at Andijk to achieve 16.7 MWp of capacity.
