September 10 (Solar) – The Aussie unit of VivoPower International Plc (NASDAQ:VVPR) has agreed with a local renewables consulting and engineering firm to jointly develop a portfolio of solar projects in New South Wales.
VivoPower Pty Ltd and IT Power (Australia) Pty Ltd, or ITP, will co-develop utility-scale, ground mounted solar projects with a combined capacity of at least 50 MW, according to the announcement. The pair plans to design, contract, finance and construct each project on a rolling basis.
Carl Weatherley-White, CEO of VivoPower, commented that this partnership represents a significant expansion of the company’s local footprint and is highly complementary to the solar initiatives of its Aevitas unit.
VivoPower has developed, constructed and financed 90 MW of projects over the past two years, it noted.
