September 6 (Solar) – UK energy company Centrica PLC (LON:CNA) said on Wednesday it has taken over US solar builder Vista Solar as part of its plans to grow in North America.
California-based solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm Vista Solar is servicing commercial, institutional and industrial clients and has so far deployed more than 40 MW of photovoltaic (PV) capacity.
The transaction was carried out through Centrica Business Solutions and is seen to help the UK group expand its solar activities in California and other western states. The acquired business will be integrated into Centrica Business Solutions, which is offering energy insight, asset optimisation and energy solutions.
"We believe access to Centrica's scale, multi-technology solutions, and strong balance sheet will help us deliver better solutions to our customers,” commented Jaymes Callinan, president and CEO of Vista Solar.
