September 5 (Solar) – Goldwind Australia on Wednesday said it is selling a 1-GW renewable energy development portfolio located across three Australian states.
Investors can buy 100% or a majority interest in the portfolio, which consists of large wind plus solar colocation projects and several wind projects in Queensland, Western Australia and Tasmania. The portfolio is led by Goldwind together with a number of development partners. The wind power sites will be equipped with Goldwind turbines, the unit of Chinese wind turbine maker Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology (HKG:2208) said.
The sale will take place via a two-round auction, to be conducted by PwC. It is aimed at both existing players and new entrants to the Australian renewable energy market.
The projects all have executed land rights and either have development approvals or the process of obtaining such is underway or commencing, Goldwind explained. The project value of the schemes when constructed is estimated at more than AUD 3 billion (USD 2.1bn/EUR 1.9bn).
