August 30 (Solar) – Spanish forestry and energy group Greenalia SA (BME:GRN) has completed the purchase of a 230-MW solar portfolio that includes five photovoltaic (PV) projects.
More specifically, group subsidiary Greenalia Solar Power SL has bought the legal entities that hold four 50-MW projects and one 30-MW asset. Three of the plants with a combined capacity of 130 MW will be built in the region of Extremadura, while the remaining two will be constructed in Andalucía.
All projects are in the development phase, Greenalia said, adding that this is the first time it gets involved with this type of renewable energy technology. The group is already engaged in biomass and wind projects. A couple of weeks back, it was granted the construction licence by the Curtis City Council for a EUR-70-million (USD 82m) biomass power plant.
