August 23 (Solar) – Norway-based REC Group today announced orders to supply solar photovoltaic (PV) modules for 45 MW of projects in India.
The contracts were secured in the past two months, June and July, and cover rooftop PV projects of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) companies Cleanmax Solar, Fourth Partner Energy and SunSource. The particular schemes are being developed under the RESCO model, under which the developers own the system and are selected through a tariff-based reverse bidding.
About 40 MW of the ordered equipment is for REC's TwinPeak technology based modules featuring half-cut Passivated Emitter Rear Contact (PERC) cells, REC said. Just recently, the company unveiled its N-Peak series products, that combine mono n-type half-cut cells with a twin-panel design.
At present, India has about 2.5 GW of installed rooftop solar capacity, while its goal is to have 40 GW by 2022.
