August 23 (Solar) – Indian company Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) on Wednesday invited expressions of interest (EoIs) for the development of 1 GW of solar projects at the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) in Gujarat.
Opinions and suggestions on various technological and economic aspects of the solar park will be accepted by October 15. Developers for the solar photovoltaic (PV) projects will be selected through a competitive bidding process, certain aspects of which will be determined after consulting with the participants in the EoI. There will be an EoI meeting mandatory for all companies willing to compete in the solar tender.
In April the government of the state of Gujarat gave in principle approval to a plan for 5 GW of solar power capacity in the Dholera SIR.
According to Mercom Capital’s India Solar Project Tracker, India’s cumulative solar power capacity had surpassed 24.4 GW at the end of June.
