UPDATE – Engie shows off 230 MW of French solar awards

August 7 (Solar) – French utility Engie SA (EPA:ENGI) said today it has won 25 photovoltaic (PV) projects with a combined capacity of close to 230 MW in the fourth call for solar tenders in France.

The company has thus been awarded nearly 550 MW of solar capacity in the four first sessions of the CRE4 call for tenders, it said in a statement. The Engie subsidiaries that emerged as winners in the latest call are Engie Green, Langa and Compagnie Nationale du Rhone.

Overall, the auction awarded roughly 720 MW at an average price of EUR 58.2 (USD 67.5) per MWh. The projects won by Engie's units range in size from 1 MW to 27 MW and include both ground-based and canopy installations.

Engie has to date installed about 1 GW of solar power capacity in France. It aims at reaching 2.2 GW of installed solar at home by 2021.
