August 3 (Solar) – The Dutch Infrastructure Fund (DIF) announced on Thursday it has completed the sale of two solar parks in the UK, totalling 10 MW, to an investment vehicle owned by renewable energy investor Greencoat Capital LLP.
The sale was carried out through DIF Infrastructure III, a private equity fund managed by DIF, while its value was not disclosed. The Islip and Springhill photovoltaic (PV) plants are now 100%-owned by Greencoat Solar Assets II Ltd.
“This is an attractive exit for DIF III and continues DIF’s successful strategy of proactively targeting to sell assets from its more mature funds taking advantage of strong demand for high quality core infrastructure projects,” Andrew Freeman, Head of Exits at DIF.
The two facilities, which DIF acquired in 2013, have been generating electricity since 2011. Refinancing for the projects was closed in June last year.
