August 2 (Solar) – All Tesla batteries have been deployed at the site of the 25 MW/50 MWh Gannawarra Energy Storage System in Victoria, Australia, developer Edify Energy said on Twitter.
The Tesla Powerpack battery will be integrated with the 50-MW Gannawarra solar farm, which is owned by Wirsol Energy and Edify Energy and which was connected to the grid in April.
The first Tesla batteries were delivered to the site in June.
The Gannawarra energy storage system has a long-term commercial services contract with EnergyAustralia, which will operate the battery alongside its offtake agreement with the Gannawarra solar farm.
The storage project is one of two large-scale batteries being funded under the Victorian government's Energy Storage Initiative, as announced in March.
