July 27 (Solar) – Chinese solar inverters manufacturer Sungrow Power Supply Co Ltd (SHE:300274) has officially opened today its 3-GW factory in Bengaluru, India.
As previously announced, the facility will be used for the production of central and string inverters. Sungrow expects it to reduce to some extent the political crisis and photovoltaic (PV) market implications, restoring market confidence.
The new plant is the company’s first factory outside of China.
Sungrow's local unit has installed over 2 GW of inverters in the past two years, the company noted. Overall, Sungrow delivered more than 16.5 GW of photovoltaic (PV) inverters globally in 2017, which is a year-on-year rise of over 48%.
