July 19 (Solar) – Independent solar power producer Sonnedix Power Holdings Ltd said on Wednesday that it has acquired the 138-MW Meseta de Los Andes solar project in Chile.
The photovoltaic (PV) plant covers a 250-hectares area and is currently at a greenfield stage. The project will be co-developed with Spanish firm AR Energia and is expected to break ground by early 2020.
Once operational, Meseta de Los Andes' output will be sold under power purchase agreements (PPAs) already secured by Sonnedix.
The company stated that this acquisition aligns with its commitment to the Chilean solar market, where it has over 400 MW of utility scale solar projects capacity under development, construction or in operation.
Earlier this month, Sonnedix also announced it has reached financial close for a 42-MW solar project in Japan.
