July 12 (Solar) – US firm Distributed Sun (DSUN) and its partner Emergya Wind Technologies (EWT) Tuesday said they have sold a 75-MW community solar project portfolio in New York.
The partners started development of the SUN8 projects near the end of 2016. They are now shovel-ready and expected to enter construction in the coming weeks.
“This makes us the largest developer of fully ready-to-build community solar assets in NY since Governor Cuomo and state legislators authorized this visionary clean energy program for local communities,” said DSUN chief executive Chase Weir.
A second phase of SUN8 projects will be ready next year, DSUN and EWT said. They plan to bring online 90 MW of distributed solar and wind capacities in 2019.
The SUN8 development portfolio is being supported by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and the NY Green Bank.
