July 12 (Solar) – Belectric Solar and Battery GmbH said Wednesday it is “well prepared” to commence construction works in the upcoming weeks on the first of two big solar projects in New South Wales (NSW) for its German parent Innogy SE (ETR:IGY).
Belectric Australia Pty Ltd is in charge of the 347-MWp Limondale and 115-MWp Hillston solar photovoltaic (PV) projects’ engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and operation and maintenance (O&M). These were bought by Innogy earlier this year from Overland Sun Farming.
Innogy said in February the total investment in the two Australian solar power plants, including acquisition of the project rights, was estimated at over EUR 400 million (USD 468m). Full commercial operations were targeted by the end of 2019.
“Australia is a promising market to further strengthen our global leading position,” Belectric’s managing director, Martin Zembsch, said in the press release yesterday.
