July 6 (Solar) – Clean energy developer and operator ET Energy said today it has begun construction work on two solar projects in Chile with a combined capacity of 6.34 MWp.
Each installation will be of 3.168-MWp capacity and will be located in the 6th Region of Chile south of Santiago. They will use polycrystalline panels mounted on single-axis trackers. The construction phase should be completed within four months.
These plants are part of a 10-project portfolio totalling 31.6 MWp, developed under the country’s Program for Distributed Energy (PMGD). Four additional projects of similar characteristics are seen to enter construction in the coming weeks.
ET Energy called Latin America “potentially the next booming solar market”, quoting forecasts for more than 40 GW of solar energy installations by 2021.
