June 29 (Solar) – Gamesa Electric, a unit of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (BME:SGRE), has won a contract to supply equipment for 300 MW of solar projects developed by Opdenergy in Spain.
Under the terms of the deal, Gamesa Electric will deliver E-2.5 MVA-SB-I inverters for six projects that are expected to enter the construction phase by the end of the year. The equipment will be combined with transformers and switchgear, and integrated within a prefabricated concrete solution. All the connections will be fully wired and factory tested.
Commissioning is scheduled before the end of 2019.
The company noted that a total of 200 MW from this deal is part of the project package won by the customer in the renewable energy auction held last year.
