Savosolar to proceed with French solar thermal contract

June 26 (Solar) – Finnish solar thermal systems supplier Savosolar Oyj said today it has received final instructions to proceed with deliveries under a EUR-2-million (USD 2.3m) order from NewHeat SAS in France.

Under the terms of the deal, which was signed in March 2018, Savosolar will install what it says is the largest solar thermal system in France. According to a previous announcement, the plant will be built in Condat-sur-Vezere and will have a collector area of more than 4,000 sq m. It will be the first flat plate collector field in the world that is installed on a one-axis tracking system.

The project developer has now obtained the needed approvals and has given the green light to the Finnish firm to commence deliveries of solar thermal collectors. NewHeat intends to use the facility to supply and sell heat to an industrial site.

Savosolar said that the construction of the solar facility will take place during the summer and autumn of 2018.
